A new real estate survey found the city’s average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is $1,000, which is more than $800 above the national median rent of $1.15 per hour.
The median Seattle rent is $719.
The median Seattle home sale price is $5,919.
And, in the first-ever real estate data collected by the Seattle Department of Finance, the average rent in Seattle for one-bedrooms in a four-bedroom is $2,400, compared to $2.80 per hour in New York.
Seattle’s median rent for two-beds is $3,100, which also beats the national average of $3.00 per hour for one bedroom.
Seattle rents are still about a fifth of the national national average, according to the study, which was done by real estate research firm CBRE.
