New report: $1.2M in cash, gold and jewelry seized by Tennessee attorney general

The Tennessee attorney General’s Office said Tuesday that it seized more than $1 million in cash and gold from a Nashville-area real estate broker.

The Tennessee attorney-general’s office said the cash and jewelry were part of a transaction between the broker and an attorney who is not connected to the attorney general’s office.

The attorney-General’s Office says the money was paid to the broker through a third party for use in a criminal matter.

It was not immediately clear if the attorney-gates office is investigating the attorney for violating the state’s ethics code, a spokesman for Attorney General Greg Stumbo said in a statement.
